F A Q

Who do we help?

Anyone experiencing homelessness. Though our primary focus is those living in the underground, we offer services to anyone that needs our program’s assistance.

Is there a wait to get in?

There is no wait. Though we do use many community programs, and to get started we may have to place somewhere temporarily until a longer-term solution is available.

How Long is the program?

We offer Case Management services for up to two years however each individual’s needs vary. We will cater to each person’s needs and structure the length of programming around a personalized case plan.

What does the program cover?

We offer 90 days of treatment and 90 days of housing with wrap around targeted case management. Although this is offered to each participant, we base the length of stay on the case plan and the commitment of the individual in our programming. If longer or shorter assistance is more appropriate we make the adjustment based on each individual.

Do we accept Volunteers?

YES! Please fill out our Volunteer Form for more information.”

What type of volunteer opportunities are there?

We have a few different ways to engage in Shine A Light and encourage you to fill out our Volunteer Form to find what might best fit you.

What type of donations do we take?

Shine A Light is a true community organization. All monies used for client services are privately donated. This helps ensure that we can avoid any type of wait or restrictions when it comes to placing clients in the most appropriate level of care when we get them in, it also allows us to go the extra mile and help in areas that may be otherwise restricted by certain grants that are available.

For in kind donations our primary needs are new socks, AA and AAA batteries, dry storage food such as granola bars, ramen noodles, snack packs, etc. Water bottles both one time use, and reusable sports bottles, hygiene (men and women’s), and lastly dry dog food.”

Any other questions you may have are absolutely encouraged. Please contact us if you have any further inquiry. We look forward to hearing from you.”
